Effective Science Activities (ESA) was developed after discovering a critical need for a science program that was easy to implement, budget friendly, and yet still incorporated scientific as well as critical thinking for the student.

So, we designed a low cost program with both the teacher and student in mind.

For the teacher, this is a useful collection of material that can be used as …

• an as-is lab program that you can implement immediately
• a template from which you can customize labs to meet your own classroom goals and needs
• a springboard that will help you in developing your own great labs!

For students, this system will provide …

• practice in laboratory skills and techniques
• an opportunity to master the basic elements of experimental design
• exposure to laboratory skills and techniques needed at the university level

But most importantly, our system excites students by giving them an opportunity to “do” science rather than simply read about it.

These activities have been tested in our own classrooms, and have produced students that are excelling in post-secondary science coursework.
